GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for rapid dispatch and documentation of needed law enforcement, fire and medical emergency and non-emergency services in a timely and proficient manner.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Regular attendance and adherence to work schedules is required

Call Taking:
Must answer multiple (911) emergency and non emergency phone calls.

Dispatching:
Must dispatch Law Enforcement and all other Emergency and Non-Emergency services in a timely manner.

Recording Information:
Via Computer Aided Dispatch.

Knowledge and Skill to retrieve and input information into computers which include numerous varieties of formats.

Monitoring and Updating computer information in the numerous formats involved with Law Enforcement and Emergency and Non-emergency situations.

Using all communications equipment and procedures

Perform all other related duties involved in the efficient operation of the department as assigned or required.

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves and other. Requested accommodations to work hours and schedules are considered on an individual basis.

Maintain and distribute pertinent information.

Be adept at Emergency Decision Making.

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Must be bondable
Must hold a valid Texas Drivers License

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Multi-tasking ability to handle numerous emergency and non-emergency calls at one time while maintaining a courteous and professional manner Computer knowledge and skills. Must be able to do troubleshooting and problem solving during routine tasks and under emergency situations.
Must be acceptable in following directives.
Must have the ability to meet and serve the public in a professional and efficient manner
Must have the ability to perform detailed work with speed and accuracy
Must have the ability to interact in a positive manner with the public and co-workers
Must have the ability to prepare records in a systematic, neat and legible manner
