Overview

Job Title: Inpatient/Hospital Pharmacy Technician (Full-Time)

Location: Lynn County Hospital District – Tahoka, TX

Schedule: Full-Time

Reports to: Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist in Charge

Job Summary: Lynn County Hospital District is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations in our rural hospital setting. The ideal candidate must hold an active Texas pharmacy technician license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) and bring prior inpatient or hospital experience. This role includes a variety of medication distribution tasks, restocking, charge entry, and the use of automated dispensing systems.

Omnicell experience is highly preferred. Must work in accordance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy rules for rural hospitals.

Minimum Requirements
  • Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (not Trainee license)
  • In good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP)
  • 2+ years of hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience
  • Familiarity with automated dispensing cabinets (Omnicell strongly preferred)
  • Experience with patient charge entry and hospital information systems
  • Ability to work independently and follow state guidelines for pharmacy technician duties in rural hospitals
Responsibilities
  • Fill and deliver medications accurately to patient care units
  • Restock and manage medication inventory in Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets
  • Perform daily reviews and updates of patient medication charges
  • Enter medication orders and distribution data into the hospital’s pharmacy system
  • Participate in medication returns, expired drug checks, and inventory rotation
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacist and nursing staff regarding medication needs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy environment
  • Adhere to hospital policies and state regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of inpatient pharmacy workflow
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Omnicell or similar ADC systems
