Responsibilities
  • Assist clients in activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, according to specific assignments provided by a supervisor.
  • Supervise clients during activities to enable safe functioning.
  • Maintain compliance with all At Home Health policies, procedures, guidelines, and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Immediately report significant changes in the client's environment, behaviors, or circumstances to a supervisor.
  • Monitor the client’s environment for safety hazards and take appropriate actions to eliminate or report hazards.
Qualifications
  • Must have a pleasant and cheerful demeanor, with an attitude of helpfulness, especially in stressful situations.
  • Ability to effectively carry out duties, cooperate, and support fellow workers daily.
  • Personal assistance services as defined in TAC 40 Chapter 97, performed by unlicensed persons at least 18 years old who demonstrate competency.
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Complete required training and meet competency requirements.
  • Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds continuously.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of the shift, with sitting approximately 25%, standing/stooping/bending/climbing about 55%, and walking about 20%.
  • Recognize differences in sounds, such as voices or noises, that are loud and playful versus angry and aggressive.
  • Exercise patience, tact, initiative, judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Work under minimal supervision, understanding that errors may have serious consequences.
  • Recognize changes in a client’s appearance, attitude, and condition.
