Position Overview:
We are actively seeking dedicated and skilled Physician Assistants with a specialty in Critical Care Pediatrics to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team on a locum tenens basis near Dallas. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide life-saving care in a high-acuity environment, while working within a supportive and collaborative team. Assignment Details:
Start Date:
July 7, 2025 Initial Term: 13 weeks (extension opportunities available)
Shifts:
10-hour evening shifts: 1:00 PM ??? 11:00 PM 12-hour day/night shifts: 7:00 AM ??? 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM ??? 7:00 AM Coverage Model:
Includes days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating 24/7/365 schedule In-house night call shared among team members
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, hands-on care to 4???6 critically ill pediatric patients per shift Perform essential procedures:
Arterial and central venous line placements Chest tube insertion Endotracheal intubation Lumbar puncture PICC line placement Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and care coordination Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, nurses, and other APPs
Qualifications:
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Critical Care Pediatrics Active Texas State License (or willingness to obtain) Current certifications in BLS, NRP, and PALS
Experience with Epic EMR preferred Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and deliver patient-centered care Additional Information:
Orientation hours are billable Holiday, weekend, and night shifts are equitably distributed among team members Credentialing process:
