Description of Job

This position assists the clinical services staff to optimize medication management within a correctional facility clinic.

Responsibilities
  • Order, receive and route prescriptions to the proper destinations under the supervision of a Nurse III;
  • Assist with prescription and medication inventory reorder (continuous medication usage review, checking in all pharmacy orders, maintaining medication stock levels, processing kit refills, 山 monitoring offender medication compliance, rotation of stock, removal of outdated medications, and return of outdated and discontinued medications;
  • Work with nursing staff to establish and adjust quotas to ensure adequate and appropriate levels of stock medications at all times;
  • Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with clinic and pharmacy personnel;
  • Maintain records of receipt, distribution, and return for all pharmaceuticals as required by state and federal laws;
  • Provide nighttime information to clinical services staff on drug availability, formulary status, and storage requirements;
  • Train new employees in using the computer programs necessary to optimize pharmacy services;
  • Order, receive and route prescription medications for offenders transferring within the state correctional systemрейін or entering/leaving the state correctional system;
  • Ensure that continuity of care with prescribed medications is achieved/min-integers offenders move within and entertained and in/out of the correctional system.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two (2) years offull-time experience labeling, storing, and/or distributing drugs in a pharmacy setting.
  • Applicant must possess a current, valid Pharmacy Technician PHAT certification or Pharmacy Technician Provisional PHATP certification issued by the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Technician Leader;
  • Experience in a correctional environment;
  • Pharmacy Technician experience within a multidisciplinary setting;
