Post-Partum Support Aide (Non-Medical)
Do you have a passion for supporting growing families? Care Builders at Home is seeking experienced and compassionate caregivers to provide post-partum support to new mothers and their infants during the first 3–6 months following delivery.
As a member of our team, you will provide the essential "extra set of hands" that allows parents to rest and recover while ensuring their newborn is safe and nurtured. In this role, you will deliver dynamic, non-medical care in the comfort of the client's home, focusing on routine infant care and meaningful companionship that enhances the daily life of both mother and baby.
All services provided by the Post-Partum Support Aide are non-medical in nature and consist of supervision, routine infant care, companionship, and light household assistance. Staff do not provide nursing care, medical assessments, lactation consulting, or clinical services.
Responsibilities- Infant Care Supervision:
Providing supervision, lulling infants back to sleep, and routine diapering/hygiene. - Feeding Support:
Assisting with bottle feeding (formula or expressed milk) as directed by the parent or bringing the infant to the mother for nursing. - Safety Oversight:
Supervision of sleeping child and promoting a safe environment while strictly following safe-sleep protocols. - Maternal Support:
Preparing light meals for the mother and providing emotional support and companionship during the recovery period. - Household Assistance:
Handling infant laundry, household organization, and cleaning baby supplies like bottles and pump parts; adherence to infection control process to maintain safety. - Communication:
Maintaining client confidentiality and providing daily reporting post-shift. Notification of parent immediately in emergency situations and calling for help by dialing 911.
To maintain our commitment to non-medical excellence and regulatory compliance in Connecticut, all support is strictly non-clinical.
Non-Medical ScopeYou will not perform medical assessments (e.g., jaundice or incision checks), monitor clinical vitals, manage medications, or provide lactation counseling/feeding therapy.
TrainingMust complete agency training in safe sleep, bottle preparation, and infection control.
General Requirements- 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.
- Compliance with CT elder and child abuse reporting requirements, both internally and externally.
- Ability to lift infant.
- Ability to remain awake during overnight work.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills.
- Competitive Pay: $350–$400 per day.
