Responsibilities- Respond to emergency and non‑emergency calls calmly, efficiently, and promptly.
- Administer basic and restricted advance life support at the scene, en route, and in the pre‑hospital setting.
- Assess injuries or illnesses to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
- Rescue and extricate victims of accidents, sudden illnesses, or entrapment using proper techniques.
- Treat patients at the scene, en route, and in the pre‑hospital setting in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Communicate with medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions and arrange patient transport.
- Maintain order at scenes, including crowd dispersal and restraint of family or bystanders when necessary.
- Complete patient care, insurance, and evaluation forms in a competent and timely manner.
- Perform any other duties assigned by a direct supervisor or designee.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Current State of Texas Paramedic credential.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- EVOC training completed within six months of hire.
- At least one year of experience as a paramedic.
- Basic computer skills and data entry ability.
- Consistent availability for 24‑hour shifts, including full‑time, part‑time, and PRN.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor, calm under pressure, and effective English communication.
The role requires significant physical strength and dexterity. Responsibilities include lifting and carrying weights up to 100 pounds, frequent walking, running, and maneuvering patients on stretchers and other equipment. The employee must be able to perform these tasks on a variety of surfaces and in adverse environments while maintaining safety protocols.
