Performs duties involved in cleaning and sanitizing Hospital District facilities to include furnishings, decorum, equipment, and laundering materials not laundered by outside laundering service in accordance with established medical facility cleanliness standards.

Non-Exempt, Hourly, Call Pay, No Differential

Job Qualifications Education- High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:
Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms and nursing floor areas
- Cleans bathroom, basin, and shower.
- Dusts furniture and dusts and wet mops floors.
- Stocks bathroom with toilet paper and paper towels.
- Cleans patient rooms after patient is discharged or transferred as stipulated in established procedures.
- Cleans day room, nursing stations, utility rooms, lounges, report and exam rooms.
- Cleans furniture, fixtures, and hospital surfaces.
- Cleans floors by sweeping, dry or wet mopping, disinfecting, stripping, buffing, and waxing as necessary.
- Cleans carpeting by vacuuming and shampooing when necessary.
- Cleans walls, windows, doors, and ceilings.
- Empties and cleans waste receptacles and removes trash to a designated collection area.
- Distributes par levels of linen daily as needed per departments.
- Collects soiled linen from departments daily and separates for laundry services.
- Washes and dries and processes hospital district uniforms on site as requested.
- Collects biohazardous linens, trash (red bags), and small sharps containers for proper decontamination and destruction.
- Communicates positively and respectfully to audience (coworkers, patients, physicians, and others)
- Performs required tasks without prompting and adjust appropriately to situations.
- Adheres to the attendance policy.
- Follows District and department policies.
- Attends required meetings and in-services.
- Participates in Hospital District safety program and QA programs.
- Uses time and resources wisely.
- Maintains HIPAA, keeping patient and hospital confidentiality.
- Maintains adequate supplies of items needed to perform job, orders, or reports low items to supervisor.
- Practices proper phone etiquette, identifying self and department.
- Reports adverse events regarding patients, guests, or self to supervisor immediately.
