Job SummaryAs a Medical Assistant, you will provide patient support and communication, facilitating an exceptional patient experience, building and reinforcing satisfaction, trust, and organizational loyalty. You will welcome and prepare patients for appointments, inform them of relevant information for their visit, and provide clear communication about the services they are scheduled to receive.
Responsibilities- Perform point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities.
- Collect and document vital signs, histories, and screenings.
- Authorize prescription refills as directed.
- Prepare patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
- Perform phlebotomy and correctly process specimens.
- Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate kindness and compassion in all patient interactions.
- Perform quality controls and equipment checks.
- Participate in brand marketing, rotating throughout the vestibule, focusing on engaging and increasing patient volume.
- Prepare and administer PO, IM, and s as directed by the Provider, utilizing the "Rights of Vaccine or Medication Administration".
- Provide instruction to patients regarding medications and diet.
- Certified Medical Assistant or eligible within 90 days of hire.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience required.
- Current BLS certification for healthcare providers preferred; required within 90 days of employment.
- High School Diploma/Equivalency required.
- Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or ER preferred.
- Medical, Dental, Life, Disability, Vision, FSA coverages and a 401(k) savings plan.
