As a Technical Staff Member (m/f/d) in the Biobank, you will take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of biological samples – from acceptance to registration, storage, and provision for research and development projects. You will work at the interface of laboratory, data management, and quality assurance in a regulated environment.
A Day in the Life
- Responsibility for the acceptance, registration, documentation, and storage of biological samples (e.g., blood, stool samples) in our central biobank
- Selection and compilation of suitable sample cohorts for development and validation projects
- Provision, dispatch, and retrieval of samples including complete documentation
- Recording, maintenance, and quality assurance of data and analysis results in a modern LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
- Carrying out immunoassays and other laboratory diagnostic methods for the characterization of sample material
- Participation in the optimization and further development of data management and biobank processes
- Creation of SOPs and training materials as well as support of internal biobank users in the role of LIMS key user
- Ensuring compliance with GxP-, ISO-, and GMP-guidelines in daily laboratory operations
- Close cooperation with interdisciplinary teams from research, development, and quality assurance
The Key to Success:
- Completed natural science studies (Bachelor) or training as a technical assistant (BTA, CTA, MTA, PTA) or laboratory assistant (m/f/d)
- First professional experience in the field of biobanking or laboratory environment is an advantage
- Secure handling of MS Office, especially Excel; experience with databases or LIMS systems is a plus
- Proficient IT affinity and enjoyment of data-driven work
- Structured, careful, and self-responsible working method
- Team capability as well as a high level of quality and sense of responsibility
- Very good German and English language skills in writing and speaking
