Personal Care Attendant

Job Purpose

Provide personal care services and support in the comfort of the client's home. This is non-medical Direct Care.

Venus, TX

• Provide personal care services of a non‑medical nature, according to an approved plan of care.
• Support clients by aiding with the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, hygiene, meal preparation, assistance with meals, mobility monitoring, medication reminders.
• Help family members or primary caregivers care for the client by teaching appropriate ways to transfer, turn, and re‑position if necessary.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy client environment by following agency standards and procedures.
• Update job knowledge by participating in industry educational opportunities.
• Protect the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, agency policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
• Enhance the service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

• Starting salary of $13.02/hour.

• Be skilled at caring for others.
• Have good interpersonal skills; must be service oriented with a good bedside manner.
• Must have patience and compassion for elderly and/or disabled citizens.
• Must provide two professional references.
• Six months or more of prior direct caregiving experience preferred; some training provided.
• Experience working with individuals with dementia/Alzheimer's disease.
• Skilled in verbal and written communication.
• Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.
• Must meet background eligibility requirements.
