Therapist New Horizons | Goldthwaite, TX

Since 1971, New Horizons has been committed to keeping kids first by providing safe, therapeutic, and loving environments where children and families can heal, grow, and succeed. We serve children and adolescents impacted by abuse, neglect, and exploitation through our Child Placing Agency, Family Programs, and two Residential Treatment Programs:
Audrey Grace House in Abilene and The Ranch near Brownwood. We are seeking a mission-driven, clinically strong, and hands-on Treatment Director to provide clinical leadership for Audrey Grace House and the CPA, support Family Programs, and lead the development of our community counseling center. This role provides direct clinical leadership, supports staff development, and plays a key role in strengthening and expanding services for children and families.

We are looking for a licensed clinical therapist to join our well-respected, residential treatment center for children, located in central Texas. Therapists are responsible for providing individualized group, family, and individual therapy while maintaining a comfortable, safe environment and establishing an accepting, caring therapeutic cultural for kids and adolescents. New Horizons Ranch is located in the Texas Hill Country, approximately 30 miles south of Brownwood, Texas or 8 miles west of Goldthwaite, Texas.

This is an on-site position and employees must reside in or near the Brownwood or Goldthwaite area.

Duties and Responsibilities

Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions with kids with an average caseload of 1:10. Interact daily with direct care staff and other team members to ensure the therapeutic needs of the youth are met. Develop a service plan collaboratively with the kid and other members of the Service Planning Team. Review CANS 3.0 Assessment recommendations and ensure that the child receives therapeutic interventions that align with the recommendations including determining therapy frequency.

Complete case notes according to New Horizons' policy. Adhere to the New Horizons' Employee Handbook, Philosophy, and Treatment Model. Complete updates of service plans as required according to the youth's assigned service package. Assign kid-appropriate therapeutic tasks to accomplish treatment goals.

Qualifications

Be a full-time employee at New Horizons; A master's degree in psychology, therapy, social work, or other social services field is required;
Possess either an LPC or LCSW license to provide care in the State of Texas;
Be credentialed through Medicaid (or eligible) to provide therapeutic services;
Strong clinical background preferably in trauma (not just informed but focused on resolving trauma) given priority;
Applicants must have insight and understanding of cultural diversity and have the ability to work with diverse populations;
Be able to perform conflict resolution/crisis intervention;
Applicants must pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and tuberculosis screening; and Experience in Residential Treatment a plus.

Working Conditions

Mixed indoor and outdoor environment, involving continuous interaction with youth and families, requires flexible hours. Therapist must respond to crisis situations based on the 24-hour on call schedule coordinated by the agency Treatment Director. Clinical Directors and/or the Treatment Director act as a back up to the on call person on a rotating schedule. Physical requirements must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the position;

including considerable walking, good hearing to assess situations quickly and respond appropriately, the ability to perform CPR and First Aid, and be able to respond when a kid is a danger to their self or others including performing physical restraints.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $70,000.00 annually Compensation is based on experience, education, and leadership background.
