Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Fort Worth, TX 76102

Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM

Job Summary: A healthcare facility in Fort Worth is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical and clinical teams by ensuring the availability of clean, sterilized instruments and medical equipment. This position plays a vital role in maintaining patient safety and upholding infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical devices.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, and steam sterilizers.
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage; repair or report as needed.
  • Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets based on established protocols and surgeon preferences.
  • Monitor, document, and verify sterilization cycles for compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and ensure sterile supplies are stored appropriately.
  • Follow strict safety and infection control procedures when handling contaminated items.
  • Work closely with surgical and nursing teams to ensure timely delivery of sterilized instruments.
  • Keep detailed records of sterilization processes, equipment maintenance, and instrument tracking.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician program or relevant training.
  • CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification preferred (may be required depending on the facility).
  • Understanding of sterilization methods and infection control protocols (AAMI, AORN standards).
  • Basic computer proficiency for inventory and record-keeping.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.
