Overview

Position:
Physical Therapy Assistant (LTAC) – Travel assignment in Dimmitt, TX. Start date 07/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,601–$1,691 per week. Schedule includes Mon–Thu 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and Fri 8:00 AM–12:00 PM (40 hours). Setting: long-term acute care and skilled nursing care environment. This travel role is with Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions as a Physical Therapy Assistant in outpatient-oriented and swing-bed care, with a focus on ortho, stroke rehab, and sports medicine.
  • Implement and progress treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed PT; monitor patient response and document progress.
  • Assist patients with mobility, gait training, transfers, and activities of daily living to maximize functional independence.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention; communicate patient status with the PT team.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition; ensure safety and adherence to clinical guidelines and facility protocols.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care across outpatient and swing-bed services.
Requirements
  • Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in Texas (or eligible)
  • Minimum 2 years of PTA experience
  • Experience in outpatient ortho-related therapy, stroke rehabilitation, and sports medicine
  • Ability to work in an LTAC/long-term care and swing-bed care setting
  • Associate degree from an accredited PTA program
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Availability to work the scheduled days and hours for this assignment
