Radiology Supervisor – Radiology Job Summary
Responsible for planning, organizing and supervising the overall operation of the Imaging/Radiology Services Department. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from newborn to elderly. Ensures smooth patient flow throughout the day. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in QI activities. Assures competency of all staff.
Formulates the budget. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all accrediting organization, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. Develops, implements and reviews department policies.
- AAS degree or hospital‑based training certification required. Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
- Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
- Administrative/Supervisory experience preferred.
- At least five (5) active years in a department with diagnostic and special procedures experience.
- Current membership and active participation in the Radiologic Technologist professional organization.
- Certified by the State of Texas to practice and administer radiation.
- Current BLS for healthcare providers' certification required.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
- Computer knowledge necessary, including proficiency in Word and Windows.
