Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bullard, TX. The medical appealer will review and prepare clinical documentation for insurance appeals, ensuring accurate and timely submission of required materials. The role includes requesting and tracking physicians’ orders, obtaining authorizations from insurance companies, and verifying coverage for prescribed therapies and equipment. The individual will coordinate with prescribers, nurses, and payers to resolve authorization issues and maintain up-to-date records.
The position also involves ordering supplies, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring that patients receive necessary infusion materials and DME in a timely manner. Daily responsibilities require consistent use of electronic medical records, strong communication skills, and adherence to regulatory and company policies.
Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of Medicine and clinical terminology relevant to home infusion and DME.
- Experience with documentation, including interpreting physician orders.
- Experience with insurance authorization processes, appeals, and medical billing or reimbursement.
- Ability to read and interpret clinical notes, lab results, and diagnostic reports to support appeals.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple cases concurrently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clinicians, payers, and patients.
- Prior experience in home infusion, DME, or a clinical administrative setting preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare or billing certification is beneficial.
