Full-Time Days Ultrasound Technologist - Pittsburg, Kansas

Overview

Mercy seeks an ultrasound technologist to perform ultrasound procedures with independence and professional judgment, contributing to accurate imaging for diagnosis. This role emphasizes flexibility through a Call Tree system, without a mandatory on-call requirement, and alignment with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

• Perform ultrasound examinations at a technical level without constant supervision.
• Carry out a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment, initiative, and problem-solving to support accurate sonographic imaging for diagnosis.
• Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as assigned.
• Perform related duties as needed within the scope of diagnostic medical sonography.

• Education:
  
  Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program that meets eligibility requirements for registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• Certifications:
  
  Registered or registry-eligible in OB/GYN and Abdominal Sonography through ARDMS.
• Experience:
  
  Preferred 1 to 2 years of experience.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Must be able to operate ultrasound equipment (including mobile units), evaluate images, and assist with patient handling (lifting, moving, transporting).
• Physical and other requirements:
  Requires frequent standing and walking, the ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, adapt to stressful situations, and communicate effectively.
• Equipment Used:
  Philips ultrasound equipment and Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.
