Certified Family Partner

Burke is seeking a Certified Family Partner to serve as an active member of the Intensive Case Management/Wraparound team. This role provides peer mentoring and support to primary caregivers, helps engage families in the treatment process, and promotes self-advocacy and family empowerment.

The Certified Family Partner will provide information, referrals, and non-clinical skills training; support ongoing family engagement; assist with identifying natural, non-traditional, and community-based support systems; and document all family partner services, including both face-to-face and non-face-to-face activities.

This position is shared between two clinics and requires weekly travel to the Angelina County FCA clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer mentoring and support to primary caregivers
  • Engage families in the treatment process
  • Model and teach self-advocacy skills
  • Provide information, referrals, and non-clinical skills training
  • Maintain family engagement throughout services
  • Assist families in identifying natural, non-traditional, and community support systems
  • Accurately document all family partner services, including face-to-face and non-face-to-face activities
  • Participate as an active member of the Intensive Case Management/Wraparound team
Minimum Qualifications Education
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent required
Experience
  • Must be a parent or primary caregiver of a child or adolescent who has successfully received at least one year of treatment for a mental health diagnosis and/or special education services
Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required
  • Must be able to attend training and successfully test to become a Certified Family Partner
Physical Requirements
  • Sight, hearing, and verbal communication skills
  • Hand and finger dexterity
  • Ability to walk, drive a vehicle, and lift up to 25 pounds
Additional Requirements
  • Must be physically able to complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggressive Behavior (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid training modules
  • Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator
  • Must be willing to share stories of lived experience as a recipient of mental health services
  • Must have a reliable vehicle
