Role Description

This full-time, on-site Direct Support Professional role is located in Willis, TX. The Direct Support Professional provides daily support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with personal care, household tasks, and community-based activities. Responsibilities include helping individuals develop life skills, supporting participation in programs and outings, and following individualized support plans. The role involves monitoring safety, documenting services provided, and communicating observations to supervisors and team members.

In addition, the Direct Support Professional works collaboratively with colleagues, participates in training, and promotes a respectful, engaging environment that encourages independence and self-advocacy.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Human Services and experience or interest in supporting adults with Intellectual Disabilities.
  • Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities for working effectively with individuals, families, and team members.
  • Candidates should possess Training-related skills, including the ability to learn and follow support plans, safety procedures, and behavior support strategies.
  • Relevant experience in residential or community-based support settings, social services, or disability support is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certification in human services or related fields is a plus.
  • Ability to perform job duties that may include assisting with mobility, personal care, and transportation, in line with safety guidelines.
  • Commitment to person-centered support, respect for diverse backgrounds, and adherence to non-discriminatory practices.
