New CMA hires are eligible for a $1,250 sign-on bonus.

The Medical Assistant works as part of the clinic provider team and assists the provider in the provision of primary health care and provides invaluable support to the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Team. The Medical Assistant provides limited direct patient services and performs specifically designated independent procedures.

Duties include:

Assisting with provider support activities related to patient care and patient education

Performing data entry, such as documenting chronic medical conditions, preventive services, and medication reconciliation

Coordinating patient check-out and follow-up Scheduling appointments

Obtaining blood samples

Cleaning exam rooms

Answering phone calls

Education:

High School Diploma or GED and completion of Medical Assistant course

Licensure:
Certificate in medical assistance. Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (CPR)

Experience:

Prefer 1-2 years’ experience in a clinic, doctor’s office or similar health care facility.

Language:
English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Travel:
Occasionally; valid Texas driver’s license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Knowledge

Knowledge of medical terminology

Knowledge of legal documentation

Skills

Able to exercise good judgment and be neat and clean

Excellent team participation and organizational skills

Excellent customer service

Good communications skills: speaking and writing

Good listening skills

Ability to learn and apply what has learned
