DefinitionThe Training Lead – Food & Beverage is responsible for the design, coordination, and execution of all Food & Beverage training initiatives across Horseshoe Bay Resort’s dining outlets, bars, banquets, and club operations. This role ensures that every associate is prepared to deliver Genuine Texas Hospitality and Forbes-level luxury service through consistent, engaging, and measurable training experiences. The Training Lead acts as the bridge between the resort’s Training Department and F&B operations—implementing classroom and on-the-job programs, maintaining certifications, supporting leadership development, and ensuring service excellence across all guest touchpoints.
GeneralDuties
- Training Implementation & Delivery
- Conduct classroom and on-the-job training for all Food & Beverage associates across outlets (restaurants, bars, banquets, and clubhouse operations).
- Implement and update training materials, SOPs, quizzes, and certification tests aligned with resort standards and Forbes/Preferred criteria.
- Facilitate orientation sessions and ongoing learning experiences that reflect Horseshoe Bay Resort’s service philosophy, “Genuine Texas Hospitality.”
- Cross-train associates across multiple roles (server, bartender, steward, banquet, host, etc.) to ensure operational flexibility and service consistency.
- Deliver monthly safety and compliance training (food safety, alcohol service, hazard awareness).
- Manage the F&B Training Calendar, including monthly safety sessions, certification renewals, vendor training, and cross‑training schedules.
- Maintain training records, attendance logs, and certification tracking for all F&B employees.
- Coordinate with HR and department leaders to ensure all required training is completed and documented.
- Assist in preparing for audits by ensuring all training and service certifications are current.
- Identify high‑potential associates and support their development through “Emerging Leader” and “MIT” programs.
- Coach supervisors and managers in effective training techniques, feedback, and accountability methods.
- Facilitate round‑ups, pre‑shift energizers, and leadership sessions that reinforce service culture and team motivation.
- Be capable of performing all major F&B positions to effectively demonstrate and teach standards.
- Conduct periodic service audits and follow‑up trainings to address gaps and reinforce excellence.
- Partner with Culinary and Beverage leaders to conduct vendor and product knowledge training sessions.
- Collaborate with the Director of Training to enhance resort‑wide training systems, tools, and metrics.
- Research training practices from luxury hotels and integrate best‑in‑class methods into resort programs.
- Leverage technology platforms (SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Power Automate, etc.) to streamline communication and tracking.
- Regularly review guest feedback, audit scores, and departmental performance to identify training needs and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with other departments as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Food & Beverage operations in a luxury or full‑service resort environment.
- Prior experience in training, learning & development, or leadership coaching preferred.
- Knowledge of Forbes Travel Guide or Preferred Hotels service standards strongly preferred.
- TABC and Food Handler certifications required.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills (English required; Spanish bilingual preferred).
