Bar Operations Manager – Palm Court Bar
Set within one of Liverpool’s most iconic buildings, The Municipal Hotel & Spa is a landmark of luxury, style, and warm Northern hospitality. We’re looking for an exceptional Bar Operations Manager to lead this flagship bar experience.
You’ll take full ownership of the Palm Court Bar operation, driving consistency, quality, and performance across every detail. From the perfect pour of a premium spirit to delivering a seamless all‑day dining experience, you’ll ensure every guest interaction reflects the luxury and character of The Municipal.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the full day‑to‑day running of the Palm Court Bar, ensuring smooth, efficient, and polished service at all times.
- Deliver exceptional product quality across beverages and bar dining, maintaining consistency that reflects a 5‑star Liverpool experience.
- Take ownership of budgets, driving revenue while maintaining tight cost control and operational efficiency.
- Lead, inspire, and develop your team—creating a culture focused on pride, progression, and consistently high performance.
- Collaborate across the hotel to deliver standout events, private functions, and guest experiences that leave a lasting impression.
- Drive continuous improvement in service flow, standards, and team productivity within a high‑volume, luxury setting.
- Manage stock control and back‑office systems with precision, ensuring accurate reporting and proactive variance management.
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor; engaging with guests, elevating their experience, and embodying true Liverpool hospitality.
- Has extensive experience in luxury or high‑end hospitality, ideally within a premium bar environment.
- Leads from the front; hands‑on, visible, and fully immersed in the guest experience.
- Brings strong commercial awareness, balancing cost control with exceptional quality and service.
- Understands the importance of consistency in a high‑volume, flagship venue.
- Is passionate about training and developing teams, building knowledge in wines, spirits, and service excellence.
- Has a sharp eye for detail and takes pride in maintaining the highest standards.
- Is proactive, solution‑focused, and calm under pressure.
- Communicates with confidence, warmth, and authenticity; reflecting the spirit of Liverpool.

- Desirable to hold a Level 2 WSET.
