Salary: $75,000 Base + Annual Bonus

Overview

Our client is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join their team in Afton, Texas. This is a newly created position supporting a large-scale project with an anticipated duration of approximately two years, followed by opportunities for continued growth within the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being the primary HR presence at a project site while partnering closely with leadership and regional HR teams.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about delivering an exceptional employee experience. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary onsite Human Resources contact for employees and project leadership.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, orientation, badging, and site access.
  • Provide day-to-day HR support and respond to employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and HR programs.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to support employee relations matters, including documentation and administrative follow‑up.
  • Assist with workplace investigations, fact‑finding, and maintaining confidential HR records.
  • Support performance management processes, including coaching documentation and corrective action administration.
  • Conduct exit interviews and stay interviews while identifying opportunities to improve the employee experience.
  • Maintain employee files and HR documentation with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Partner with site leadership to foster employee engagement and a positive workplace culture.
  • Support workforce changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and separation.
  • Assist with HR reporting, data tracking, and administrative projects.
  • Collaborate with regional HR teams to ensure consistent application of HR policies and employment practice.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent Human Resources experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of two years of Human Resources experience.
  • Working knowledge of core HR principles and employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and related regulations.
  • Strong employee relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Self‑starter who can work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration.
  • Prior experience supporting construction, manufacturing, industrial, or project‑based environments.
