Network Deployment Technician, DCC Communities

Job Overview

AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of next‑generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

• Scale support of several data center locations and provide day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management.
• Work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
• Leverage experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks and network implementation and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate in a fast‑paced, peer‑and‑customer‑focused environment and establish best practices to refine operational procedures.
• Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
• Specify Power and Cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
• Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.

• Provide first‑level networking devices to serve customer racks, track network rack intake and delivery, request rack space, power, and cooling, and partner with network engineers to ensure configurations are ready.
• Build console and room infrastructure to provide additional space and capacity for customer racks.
• Collaborate with ‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
• Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed.
• Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
• Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.

Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required. A reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license are needed for travel, as company transportation will not be provided.

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• 1+ years of Linux operating system experience.
• 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Data center experience or industry standard certifications such as CompTIA, CCENT, Network+.
• Experience with network troubleshooting tools including VFLs, OTDR, and power meters.
• Knowledge of major command‑line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF).
