Job Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. You’ll be part of a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

You’ll help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

• Move and implement large enterprise equipment.
• Install fiber and copper cabling and patch cables between equipment.
• Ensure proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation.
• Follow well‑established hardware installation procedures and perform break‑fix activities.
• Safely use material‑handling tools and equipment.
• Travel within and outside the regional work area as required.

• Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
• Work in an environment that operates 24/7 and be available for primary responder rotation and after‑hours support.
• Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
• Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.

• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility becomes operational.
• Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and facility status.

• Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
• 18+ months of experience in a data center, critical environment, or similar technical role (e.g., computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations).
• 18+ months of experience with network cabling, optical types, and test equipment (VFL, power meter, OTDR, etc.).

• Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering).
• Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA).
• Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and/or weekends.
