On-Site Service Engineer – AI Data Center

Location: Childress, TX

Pay Rate: $40.00 - $41.61 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Future wave Systems is seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer to support enterprise data center operations within a next-generation AI infrastructure environment. This position is responsible for maintaining system uptime, performing hardware deployments, executing component-level repairs, and providing hands‑on technical support in a mission‑critical data center setting.

The ideal candidate will possess strong server hardware experience, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional technical support within high‑availability data center environments.

• Perform server installations, deployments, upgrades, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Build, configure, and replace enterprise server hardware, including CPUs, GPUs, memory modules, power supplies, and chassis components.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, and operating system issues within enterprise server environments.
• Follow established Plans of Action (POAs) and support procedures to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Maintain detailed real‑time documentation of service activities, troubleshooting efforts, and system updates.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, data center personnel, and customers to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Escalate complex technical concerns as appropriate while maintaining ownership of assigned tasks.

• 3–5+ years of experience supporting enterprise hardware, data centers, or field service operations.
• Hands‑on experience building and troubleshooting enterprise server environments.
• Experience replacing server components including CPUs, GPUs, RAM, power supplies, and motherboards.
• Familiarity with Linux or enterprise operating systems.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Childress, TX (within a 45‑minute commute).
• Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance.

• Experience supporting liquid‑cooled or water‑cooled server infrastructure.
• Dell hardware certifications or similar vendor certifications.
• Personal experience building custom PCs or maintaining homelab environments.

• Ability to lift and maneuver hardware weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work independently in fast‑paced, mission‑critical data center environments.
• Flexibility to support occasional schedule adjustments and on‑call rotations as required.
