Job Responsibilities
- Perform daily storage management activities related to SMS routines, DASD pool monitoring, housekeeping batch jobs, and on‑call support.
- Troubleshoot basic space issues and perform migration and archive functions.
- Implement routine storage type changes as requested by clients to add or move volumes.
- Troubleshoot JCL errors and resolve them.
- Create and maintain core system backups.
- Login and monitor IBM TS7700 grids.
- Understand and execute the incident, change, and problem processes.
- Implement new storage solutions.
- Perform and lead disaster recovery drills and provide direction to other drill team members.
- Create and manage SMS spools.
- Configure tape and DASD hardware devices at the device level.
- Peer‑review all storage changes executed by the team.
- Administer storage software.
- Set up and troubleshoot storage replication (tape and DASD).
- Troubleshoot IBM grid failures and maintain an in‑depth understanding of monitoring and management across multiple clusters and locations.
- Lead storage restoration efforts during outages.
- Provide on‑call 7 × 24 rotation.
- Maintain GDPS knowledge.
Compensation at DXC is influenced by a variety of factors, including experience, job‑related knowledge, skills, competencies, contract‑specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The estimated compensation range for this position is $76,700 – $142,500.
