Primary
Purpose:
Perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment, network, and software applications throughout the district. Respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and computer hardware.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Knowledge of operating systems:
Microsoft Windows 10, Mac OS X 10.9+, iOS 7+, Apple hardware (iPad, iPod, iMac, Mac Book Air, Apple TV) - HP and Dell (Latitude and Optiplex) systems
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software and imaging practices
- Ability to install, maintain, and repair computers and peripherals, including printers, document cameras, projectors, interactive whiteboards, wireless slates, security cameras, and VoIP phones
- Mandatory training and certifications in job duties will be required
Experience:
- Two years of computer-related experience and general knowledge of computer and network maintenance
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Major Responsibilities and Duties- Assist Technology department in performing hardware and software inventories.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and solve hardware and software problems on Windows and OS X based computer systems.
- Diagnose and repair equipment, including printers, Apple TV, projectors, interactive whiteboards, document cameras, wireless slates, security cameras, and VoIP phones.
- Deploy computers and peripherals to district standards.
- Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data communications circuits and equipment.
- Service equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule.
- Maintain accurate updated records of preventive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, and carrying
- Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately

- Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent climbing, stooping, walking, balancing, pulling, pushing, bending, and kneeling; frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test equipment; frequent district-wide travel.
- Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
- May be required to be on-call 24 hours a day.
