Job Description Primary PurposeProvide a point of contact for all district staff to resolve problems relating to computer- and communications-related services. Responsible for phone support, technology issue evaluation, and distribution of technology-related work orders.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Knowledge of various operating systems
Knowledge of software used to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
Ability to detect and resolve technical or technology-related problems
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Assist schools and administrative departments to develop and implement plans to address technology needs, including evaluation of hardware and software and management of information relating to attendance, grade reporting, scheduling, demographic data, and budgetary information.
- Help develop and implement district standards and specifications for hardware and software use.
- Help develop and implement a district wide computer networking plan.
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of all computer hardware and software throughout the district.
- Assist with the implementation of staff development in the area of information management and technology; make presentations as needed.
- Prepare correspondence, memorandums, forms, requisitions, and reports for the technology department office.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
- Maintain district website and social media accounts.
- Assist with production, publication, and distribution of publications and new releases.
- Process technology-related work orders and assign priority to work orders. Evaluate and recommend technology-related repairs and costs. Arrange for contract repairs for work that cannot be performed by district staff.
- Analyze and identify trends in issue reporting and devise preventative solutions.
