Job Description
Primary

Purpose:

Provide technical support for computers, Chromebooks, mobile devices, classroom technology, network equipment, software, and related technology systems. Respond to technology support requests by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, connectivity, account, and equipment issues. Assist with deployment, maintenance, inventory, and lifecycle management of district technology.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate's degree in computer science, IT, information systems, or related field preferred
  • CompTIA A+, Google, Microsoft, Cisco, or similar industry certification preferred
  • Clear and valid driver's license
Special Knowledge/

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Windows, ChromeOS, and web-based applications
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace for Education
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, printers, peripherals, and classroom technology
  • Ability to diagnose and repair computer and Chromebook hardware
  • Basic knowledge of wired and wireless networking
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot network cabling and related hardware
  • Ability to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot software and operating systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot user accounts, applications, and access issues
  • Ability to maintain accurate technology inventory and service records
  • Ability to follow district cybersecurity, data privacy, and technology procedures
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests
Experience:
  • 2 years of experience supporting, installing, maintaining, or repairing computers, Chromebooks, networks, or related technology preferred
Major

Responsibilities and Duties:

Technical Support
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computers, Chromebooks, mobile devices, peripherals, and other technology equipment, such as interactive displays, projectors, document cameras, audio equipment, and related instructional devices. Install and configure approved applications, operating systems, updates, extensions, and other district software.
  • Provide technical assistance to users of computers, Chromebooks, Google Workspace, software applications, classroom technology, printers, accounts, and other technology resources.
  • Respond to assigned technology support tickets. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, application, account, printing, and network connectivity issues. Document troubleshooting, repairs, resolutions, and other work performed.
  • Assist with troubleshooting wired and wireless network connectivity, switches, access points, network cabling, and related infrastructure.
  • Install, terminate, troubleshoot, and maintain network cabling and associated equipment as assigned.
Equipment Maintenance and Device Deployment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of technology equipment.
  • Diagnose and replace damaged or failed components. Prepare equipment for warranty or vendor repair when appropriate. Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, equipment status, and work performed.
  • Remove and replace obsolete equipment. Assist with migration of user data and settings when appropriate. Follow district procedures for securely wiping, retiring, recycling, transferring, or disposing of technology equipment.
  • Configure, deploy, and collect student and staff technology devices.
  • Assist with Chromebook and computer enrollment, configuration, organizational placement, and device management.
  • Assist with district wide technology deployments, replacements, refresh projects, and other Technology Department initiatives.
Asset Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for computers, Chromebooks, peripherals, network equipment, software, and other technology assets. Assign, transfer, collect, and update equipment records as devices move between users, classrooms, campuses, and departments.
  • Assist with receiving, tagging, organizing, storing, and distributing technology equipment and supplies. Assist with periodic physical inventories and reconciliation of district technology assets.
Cybersecurity and Data Protection
