Join the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) as the Director of Legal Services/General Counsel to lead our legal function and support a high‑performing organization delivering essential water, wastewater, and solid waste services to more than two million residents.

• Manage and coordinate all legal services for the District.
• Oversee relationships with external legal counsel and ensure matters are addressed efficiently and cost‑effectively.
• Provide legal guidance on water, wastewater, and solid waste operations, local government law, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with the executive team, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders to develop and implement legal strategies.

• Licensed to practice law in Texas (or ability to obtain Texas State Bar within three months of hire).
• Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Minimum 15 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in Texas local government law.
• Experience managing outside counsel.

• Experience negotiating legal fees and managing budgets.
• Direct experience advising a water district, municipal utility, or city council.
• Proven ability to develop legal processes and training programs.
• Strong record of collaboration with executive teams and governing boards.

Approximately $200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
