Prime Metal Buildings & Components Logistics Coordinator Summary

Prime Metal Buildings is looking for a highly organized and motivated Logistics Coordinator to support our Logistics Manager with transportation scheduling, purchase orders, invoicing, load coordination, and daily operational paperwork. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, understands the importance of urgency, and can effectively manage multiple priorities at once.

This role offers significant growth potential for the right individual, including the opportunity to develop into a Freight Broker position and take on additional transportation management responsibilities. This position is designed to provide hands‑on exposure to all aspects of transportation and logistics operations. High‑performing individuals will have the opportunity to advance into freight brokerage, load management, and transportation operations roles.

Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Logistics Manager with daily transportation and logistics operations.
  • Create, process, and maintain purchase orders, invoices, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate freight shipments using both company‑owned trucks and third‑party transportation providers.
  • Communicate with drivers, brokers, customers, and internal team members regarding delivery schedules and shipment status.
  • Help schedule and coordinate Moffett deliveries for our six retail locations.
  • Track shipments and proactively address delivery issues, delays, or customer concerns.
  • Maintain accurate transportation records and load documentation.
  • Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Assist with load planning and transportation scheduling.
  • Provide administrative support for logistics, freight, and operations activities.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow‑through.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced logistics environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, dispatching, freight brokerage, construction materials, or trucking operations is preferred but not required.
  • Customer service experience is a plus.
  • Understands that transportation is a time‑sensitive business.
  • Can quickly assess priorities and respond with urgency.
  • Is comfortable communicating with drivers, brokers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Enjoys solving problems and keeping operations running smoothly.
  • Wants to grow into a larger role within logistics and freight brokerage.
