Huntsman is seeking an AMER Purchasing Manager
- Americas, Advanced Materials supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Global Director Purchasing
- Advanced Materials.

Job Scope

The AMER Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading the Advanced Materials Raw Materials procurement organization across the Americas. This role translates global procurement strategies into effective regional execution while ensuring regional market conditions, operational requirements, and business priorities are represented in global sourcing decisions. The position provides leadership to a team of procurement professionals and partners closely with Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, and senior leaders to drive sourcing strategies, supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity.

Summary, As The AMER Purchasing Manager, You Will:
  • Lead and develop a team of three procurement professionals across the Americas region.
  • Execute global sourcing strategies and align them with regional business and manufacturing requirements.
  • Drive sourcing initiatives focused on cost reduction, supply resilience, working capital improvement, and business performance.
  • Lead complex supplier negotiations and develop long-term supply agreements.
  • Analyze market intelligence, supplier performance, spend data, and supply risks to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities in alternative sourcing, supplier consolidation, specification changes, portfolio optimization, and inventory management.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance across cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and risk metrics.
  • Support manufacturing sites in resolving critical supply, quality, and contractual issues.
  • Develop business cases and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with Huntsman policies, purchasing procedures, contracts, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in global procurement initiatives, transformation programs, and cross-regional projects.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, or a related commercial role.
  • Direct experience in raw materials procurement within specialty chemicals or advanced materials.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including performance management, coaching, and team development.
  • Proven experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier selection processes, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Good understanding of chemical raw materials, feed stocks, manufacturing requirements, and Americas chemical and energy markets.
  • Experience with portfolio optimization, supplier consolidation, specification changes, alternative material qualification, or complexity-reduction initiatives.
  • Exposure to executive leadership teams, global transformation programs, or cross-functional steering committees.
  • Experience using SAP, Power BI, advanced analytics, or procurement performance management tools.
  • Professional procurement certification such as CPSM, CPM, or an equivalent qualification.
Working Environment

    The Woodlands, Texas.
  • Hybrid office and manufacturing-related environment requiring cross-functional collaboration.
  • May occasionally support manufacturing sites and supplier locations.
  • Travel required up to 20%.
  • Role involves collaboration with global teams across multiple time zones.
