Mortgage Field Services Inspector

FAR INSPECTIONS is seeking a Mortgage Field Services Inspector to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV.

Independent contractor role with predictable full‑time or supplemental income and a flexible schedule. Prior mortgage inspection experience is not required; the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and work independently is essential.

• Verify property occupancy.
• Report on general property condition using a mobile application.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in the app.
• Finish inspections within 4 days after assignment.
• Most exterior inspections require only 5‑6 minutes.
• Drive extended periods, making multiple stops across the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; fuel costs are paid by the inspector).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Valid driver’s license and a standard background check clearance.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

This is a 1099 contractor position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Expected earnings are approximately $30‑$40 per hour. Inspectors may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. No mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
