Housekeeper, Maintenance​/Cleaning

Location: Bulverde

Our Housekeepers are dependable and detail-oriented individuals who maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. This position works within the Environmental Services/Housekeeping Department, reporting to the Executive Director, and plays an important role in resident comfort and infection prevention across our assisted living and memory care neighborhoods. We are looking for hardworking, respectful individuals to join our team to uphold our “Residents First” philosophy, delivering all services in a positive manner that enhances residents' quality of life at our Gemstone Senior Living Communities Desire to work with seniors in an environment that upholds their privacy, dignity, choice, independence, and individuality.

Prior housekeeping, custodial, or environmental services experience preferred, ideally in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting.

Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, infection control practices, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

Able to organize and utilize time appropriately to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Able to work well with others and function effectively as part of a team.

Well-groomed and willing to follow dress requirements.

Cheerful, enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn new knowledge and skills.

Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, use hands, fingers, feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and smell.

Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds or more.

Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cleaning chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat while performing job duties.

Background check is required.

Reliable transportation.

Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and other associates.

Six months of work experience in a senior living or housekeeping setting is preferred.

Must be 18 years of age. High school graduate or GED preferred.

No personal cell phone usage while on shift; personal cell phones may be used on break.
