Responsible for the profitable and efficient operations of the branch Rental Department. Advises and makes recommendations to the General Rental Manager and other key executives concerning the best interests of the rental department whenever and wherever the activities of the company are involved.
Rentals Manager Essential Functions- Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
- Analyzes machine revenue vs. expense and recommends rental rate structure
- Analyzes driving costs and recommends appropriate changes in customer charges
Analyzes various manufacturers' equipment and recommends suitable new products - Reviews equipment utilization and recommends inventory adjustments
- Monitors competitive activity and recommends suitable responses
- Selects, hires, trains, and oversees rental personnel
- Utilizes people and equipment resources efficiently and effectively and ensures compliance with all safety standards
- Develops customer relations and maintains positive communications with manufacturers and other vendors
- Provides notice to the service department for upcoming machine requirements
- Works with the sales department on demos and loans and the delivery of new equipment
- Manages accurate records
- Performs other job‑related duties as assigned
- Ensures consistent and reliable on‑site attendance
- Three (3) years’ experience in managing the rentals department within a heavy equipment or rentals house dealership or closely related experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web‑based applications
- Adept at organizing, planning, and task completion to manage a high volume of department paperwork
