Location: Brady

Serves as the chief administrative and executive officer of the City. Directs, manages, and reviews the activities and operation of the City. Coordinates City services and activities among City departments and outside agencies. Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Mayor and City Council.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of:
  • General management principles
  • Program development and administration principles and practices
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration
  • Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation
  • Principles and procedures of negotiations.
Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations
  • Governmental accounting principles and practices
Skilled in:
  • Communicating effectively with a variety of individuals
  • Strategic and critical thinking
  • Leadership, organization, and effectively utilizing staff
  • Analyzing and developing policies and procedures o analyzing complex problems,
  • Identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations in support of goals
  • Preparing and administrating budgets
  • Managing change and sensitive topics
  • Planning, analyzing, and evaluating programs and services, operational needs, and fiscal constraints
  • Prioritizing, organizing, and managing multiple simultaneous projects
  • Reading, interpreting, applying and explaining laws, codes, ordinances, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Preparing clear and concise reports, including oral, written, and audio/visual presentation
  • Maintaining sensitive and confidential information
Ability to:
  • Delegate authority and responsibility
  • Identify and respond to community and City Council issues, concerns and needs
  • Develop and administer goals, objectives, and procedures
  • Prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports
  • Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals
