McLean Independent School District is seeking a visionary, student-centered leader to serve as Superintendent of Schools. The Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer of the district and works collaboratively with the Board of Trustees, staff, students, parents, and community members to lead all district operations and educational programs.

McLean ISD is a close-knit rural district serving approximately 170 students in the Texas Panhandle. The district values strong relationships, high expectations, community involvement, and a commitment to student success.

• Provide leadership for all district educational and operational programs
• Work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees to establish district goals and priorities
• Promote academic excellence and student achievement
• Maintain a positive and supportive district culture
• Oversee district budgeting, finance, and resource management
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements
• Support recruitment, development, and retention of high-quality staff
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community stakeholders
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholder groups
• Support safe and effective school operations
• Lead long-range planning and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications:

• Superintendent Certification required or currently in the process of obtaining certification
• Master’s degree required
• Doctoral degree welcomed, but not required
• Experience in campus and/or district administration preferred
• Knowledge of Texas public school operations and finance preferred
• Rural school leadership experience preferred

Additional Requirements:

• At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
