Job Description
Counsel military personnel from all branches of the uniformed services, retirees, and the families of those being processed through the Army Physical Disability Evaluation System (DES) on their rights, benefits, privileges, or obligations.
Directly, and through subordinate supervisors, supervises administrative and medical civilian personnel.
Establish priorities and exercises significant responsibilities in dealing with high-ranking officials of other divisions and units or advising executive management officials of higher rank.
Evaluate subordinate supervisors and serves as the reviewing official on evaluations of nonsupervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors.
Refer personnel to appropriate agencies to obtain counseling/guidance on benefits provided by the Department of Labor, Social Security Administration and Veterans Affairs (VA).
Ensure the Soldier understands his obligations to respond to the findings of the Informal/Formal Board within the prescribed time frame.
