The Senior Technical Facility Manager — People Leader is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mission critical facilities and critical environment infrastructure across an assigned Data Center, campus, region, or multi-site portfolio. This role serves as a senior technical authority for critical facility operations, supporting uptime, availability, business continuity, operational readiness, regulatory compliance, capital planning, and long-term infrastructure reliability.
This position leads a team of Technical Facility Managers, Facility Engineers, Operating Engineers, or other facility personnel while also managing contracted service providers, vendor partners, consultants, and contractors. The role is responsible for setting operational priorities, developing team capability, ensuring consistent execution of standards, and advancing a high-performing culture focused on safety, reliability, customer service, and operational excellence.
The Senior Technical Facility Manager provides leadership and technical oversight for complex electrical, mechanical, critical power, HVAC, building automation, fire life safety, and infrastructure systems. The role partners closely with Corporate Real Estate leadership, property management, technology teams, security, risk, business continuity, procurement, finance, project management, and external service providers to ensure facilities are operated and maintained in accordance with business requirements, critical environment standards, and enterprise risk expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own safe and reliable day-to-day operations of assigned critical facilities, data center, campus, region, or multi-site portfolio, or critical environment spaces, with accountability for up-time, infrastructure availability, operational readiness, and customer service excellence.
- Lead execution of operating standards, engineering procedures, change management practices, maintenance strategies, and business continuity expectations across the assigned portfolio.
- Serve as a senior site or regional technical authority for critical facility infrastructure, including review and approval of operational risk assessments, incident response documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Develop, implement, and sustain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for critical electrical, mechanical, HVAC, life safety, and building automation systems.
- Ensure maintenance activities are properly planned, scheduled, documented, and executed using approved procedures, MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, change controls, and CMMS/work order processes.
- Lead or support incident response, emergency operations, escalation management, root cause analysis, after-action reviews, and corrective action closure.
- Maintain accountability for regional or multi-campus operating and capital budgets, including budget development, forecasting, variance analysis, cost control, emergency expenditure planning, and value-add opportunities.
- Partners with project management, engineering, design consultants, construction teams, technology stakeholders, and vendors to support complex capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, commissioning, turnover, and operational acceptance.
- Review and provide technical input on engineering design documents, sequence of operations, switching procedures, infrastructure upgrades, and critical environment modifications.
