Truck Driver / Cherry Picker Operator
Pay up to $19/hr and up to $900 sign‑on bonus available.
Daily pay available.
Job description Essential Functions- Safely operate powered industrial trucks (electric pallet jack, forklift, reach lift) by securing material before handling and operating at reasonable speeds.
- Pull, process, and inspect materials, supplies, tools, fixtures, and parts.
- Handle shipping, pulling orders, and completing required paperwork.
- Move materials within the warehouse and assist in other activities as directed by supervisor or manager.
- Transport freight, stock, and other materials to and from staging and processing areas.
- Monitor machinery and equipment operations to ensure all product meets performance specifications and promptly notify supervisor of any quality issues.
- Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area, machines, and equipment.
- Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
- Maintain an open and candid working relationship with the immediate supervisor/manager.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent incidents or injury to self or others.
- Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures at all times, including compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.
- The individual may be asked to perform other duties as requested.
- Operate a computer – basic PC proficiency (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and reporting software).
- Accurately multiply, divide, add, and subtract whole numbers to resolve practical problems.
- Wear/use required PPE.
- Learn and effectively operate equipment and work processes in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct required quality checks and tests; inspect equipment to detect any problems and make adjustments as needed.
- Demonstrate good mechanical and operational understanding of the equipment.
- Understand written instructions and complete appropriate documentation; read orders and labels accurately.
- Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritizing production needs.
- Recognize problems when they occur and work toward solutions.
- Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks; look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity.
- Handle challenges skillfully, thoroughly, and effectively.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with co‑workers, team members, and internal or external customers; present information clearly and accurately.
- Independently take advantage of opportunities to improve skills, abilities, and job knowledge.
- Ensure that work is delivered on time and of high quality.
- Develop good work practices to get the job done.
- Use equipment, resources, and time efficiently and effectively.
- Use good judgment when making decisions.
- 1+ years of distribution experience or a satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license through Highline Warren Distribution.
- Powered Industrial Truck Certification preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Repetitive grasping and twisting with hands.
- Walking and/or standing up to 10 hours per day, 6 days per week if applicable.
- Ascend/descend stairs or ladders when getting in/out of forklift and using ladders to access high shelves to put labels away or rearrange products.
- Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels and have the ability to exchange detailed information.
- Work in a warehouse environment that may include exposure to high or precarious places, moving machinery, marked changes in temperature and humidity, dust, odors, and fumes. Typical noise level is loud.
- Ability to work in a non‑climate‑controlled environment.
