As a Sorter for our company, you will be responsible for sorting and separating recyclable and non-recyclable materials by hand-picking items from conveyors, floors, and compacted bales. You will report to the Operations Manager and be directed by the shift-working foreperson. Other duties will include maintaining a clean workstation and following safety and environmental regulations.

• Sort recyclable and non-recyclable materials by hand-picking items from conveyors, floors, and compacted bales
• Maintain a clean workstation and surrounding areas as needed and directed
• Conduct work duties in compliance with all applicable company policies, local, state, and federal safety, and environmental regulations

• Experience working in a production workplace environment is preferred
• Experience working in a collection or post-collection workplace environment is a plus
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

• Must be able to work overtime as scheduled
• Must be flexible to work any shift as scheduled
• Must be able to work in all seasonal weather conditions

• Potential for slips, trips, and falls. Hazards from lifting and falling materials. Possibility of strains and dizziness.
• Risks of being caught between objects, cutting, crushing, abrasions, lacerations, and punctures.
• Potential for exposure to hazardous household chemicals and liquid spills.
• Forklift, truck, and heavy equipment movement in work area.
• Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.

• $26.10 per hour
