Job Title: Fluids Plant Operator

Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 40+ hours per week (overtime likely depending on operational demand)
The Fluids Plant Operator is responsible for mixing drilling fluids, performing routine plant maintenance, and ensuring proper handling and documentation of fluid operations. Under general supervision, this role supports plant operations by mixing fluids to order specifications, maintaining equipment, performing quality checks, and assisting with facility upkeep. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
EssentialFunctions
Mix drilling fluids according to required formulas and operational instructions.
Conduct and evaluate basic fluid checks to ensure product quality and performance.
Load and unload trucks delivering or transporting materials and fluids.
Maintain accurate records related to fluid production and testing.
Clean and maintain mixing platforms, plant floors, and work areas.
Clean hopper lines, mud guns, pits (inside and outside), shakers, tanks, and other plant equipment.
Perform basic maintenance on plant equipment including pumps, valves, hoses, and fittings.
Repair or replace valves, fittings, and other minor mechanical components as needed.
Lubricate plant equipment on a routine maintenance schedule.
Restock materials from the warehouse as required to support ongoing operations.
Maintain plant facilities, including:
Removing trash from the mud plant yard
Leveling the yard with a blade
Repairing potholes
Mowing grass and maintaining grounds
Removing weeds and general yard upkeep
Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to perform physical labor in an industrial or plant environment.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform equipment maintenance.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Preferred:
Previous experience in drilling fluids, mud plant operations, or oilfield services.
Experience operating industrial equipment or performing basic mechanical repairs.
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
This role operates in an industrial plant environment that may include exposure to machinery, chemicals, noise, and outdoor conditions. Proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
