SUMMARY
The Welder's primary responsibility is TIG and MIG welding of aluminum and steel parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDEPARTMENTAL DUTIES:
- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
- Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Employee will not lift by self any items over 50lbs, you will ask for assistance.
- You will familiarize yourself with proper lifting and turning procedures using legs – not your back.
- Must be able to properly and safely operate machinery, as trained and authorized to do so by the company.
- Do not use machinery that you are not familiar with and have not been instructed in proper use techniques.
- Welding helmet, gloves, apron, and safety glasses MUST be worn at all times.
- Hearing protection MUST be used in any high noise areas, welding, grinding, hammering, air press, and cutting areas.
- DO NOT look at the welding area with naked eyes, as even a glace can cause damage. Always wear properly approved safety glasses to view the welding arc.
- You must wear an N95 dust/mist respirator mask when welding, cutting or grinding.
- You must wear rubber sole – leather type work shoes (no sneakers). Full-length pants and long sleeves shirts with forearms protectors (or) suitable welding jacket (or) welding apron and sleeves (no sleeveless shirts permitted).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Pay attention to the machine you are operating & make sure it is operating properly. Notify your supervisor as soon as you notice the machine not operating properly.
- If at any time you are unsure what to do or use ask your supervisor.
- Other duties may be required.
- Must have welding experience using Tig/Mig Welder and adjusting amps on the welding machine.
- Must be able to use 1-2 lbs. hammer.
- Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform the job in a standing position for a length of shift.
- This is semi‑strenuous work requiring good correct vision, lifting, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, pulling, tuning, and walking from one workstation to another.
- All safety procedures must be followed and equipment worn properly.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- MIG: 1 year (Required)
- Welding: 2 years (Preferred)
- TIG Welding: 1 year (Required)
