Shift
  • 3rd shift (11:00 pm to 7:30 am) Sunday night through Friday morning - $1.00 shift premium
  • Must be open to working weekends as needed
  • Must also be open to a rotating 7 day work week - $1.50 shift premium
    • 12-hour rotating shifts (Sunday, Monday, Thursday one week and Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday the other week)

Rate - Starting at $20.00 - $23.00

Position Overview

Performs a variety of duties necessary to convert raw materials into finished products of EPS which are then transported to a storage area. Works closely with Air Compressors, Accumulator Tanks, Boilers, Gauges, Scales, Pipes, Bins, Block Mold, Shape Mold, Batch Expander, Block Cart, Computer, and Fork Lift.

Essential Job Functions

  • Able to move objects up to 75 lbs in weight and push/pull with a force of up to 300 lbs.
  • Able to stand, stoop, bend, squat, grip tools and walk as necessary during a 12-hour shift.
  • Read and interpret schedules to anticipate production runs, ensure proper material utilization and densities and minimize downtime.
  • Perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals and calculate resin usage for block production.
  • Operate electronic scales, calculator, PC, touch screens and keyboard as well as other computerized /programmable equipment. Must be able to use and read a tape measure and a variety of hand tools.
  • Routinely check densities against specifications in order to ensure quality. Periodically is required to confirm calibrations. Monitors and adjusts equipment to guarantee proper steam levels. Sets and monitors gauges. Ensures proper set-up of Expanders and Mold (including mold spacer placement when necessary).
  • Able to climb steps to inspect proper material flow
  • Able to correctly program and operate expander and mold machinery.
  • Familiar with pipe systems and able to divert material using pipe systems when necessary.
  • Able to read and confirm gauges are within proper operating ranges. Must document lot number, date, block number and any other required information on finished block before transporting to storage.
  • Foster teamwork and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
  • Monitors and controls speeds, steam, air pressure, dryer functions, temperature and moisture control.
  • Monitors and records quality of bead (including weight and density) and reports any quality deformity to supervision immediately.
  • Performs hourly quality checks at the molds.
  • Decipher raw material codes to ensure oldest material gets run through production first.
  • Willing to assist maintenance in repairs and troubleshooting machinery.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Flexible to be cross trained in other areas or job duties.
  • Not afraid of heights. Use scissor lift – 25-30 ft high.
  • Be able to manage time well and multi-task
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prefer at least 2 years experience of being a machine operator in manufacturing setting
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Requires the ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Ability to read work instructions and to effectively communicate.
  • Job specific training including Forklift, LOTO, Confined Space and First Aid/CPR/AED/Bloodborne Pathogen.
