Welder / MIG/MAG/TIG, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking an Industrial Welder for the 2nd Shift. The core hours are 2:30pm to 11:00pm. The hourly rate is $22.71per hour plus a $1.20shift differential per hour. This information is a general guideline only; actual pay will depend on skills, experience and market considerations.
What you’ll do- Set up, understand, and proficiently operate all welding equipment.
- Troubleshoot various machine problems.
- Identify and tag shop orders with the product; retrieve or enter data into the system.
- Ensure quality and proper documentation on all parts.
- Maintain components and supplies as required to operate efficiently.
- Weld components based on print specifications.
- Perform 5S & Continuous Improvement activities.
Basic (Required)
- Minimum of one (1) year of TIG and MIG welding experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position; only candidates currently residing within the immediate geographic area of Sherman, TX will be considered (Active Duty Military Service members are exempt).
- Eaton will not consider applicants for immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
Preferred
- AWS Weld Certification.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of TIG/MIG welding experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience using blueprints (AWS weld symbols) and simple measuring tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Solid math skills; analytical and reasoning skills.
- Working knowledge of weld operations, including TIG, MIG of stainless steel and/or aluminum.
- Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally to frequently (33‑66%) and up to 75lbs occasionally by stooping, reaching, bending.
- Ability to stand for eight hours or more and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to read blueprints and use simple measuring tools.
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and maintain close attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team responsible for assembling an entire product or component.
- Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate.
- Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays, as required by the business.
- Requires PPE: safety glasses, steel‑toe shoes, leather gloves, and hearing protection (as required in high‑noise areas).
- Environment exposure includes sharp objects, pinch points, oil, and sparks.
