Overview
Pay Range: $28.00 - $30.50 per hour
The Production Supervisor supervises processes and procedures within the production department, focusing on steel shop fabrication, production, and scheduling. Responsible for maintaining records, quantities, and destinations of materials received or improved. Ensures safety, quality, and production policies and procedures are adhered to, aims to maximize productivity and profits, and supervises personnel training and development to complete projects in a timely manner.
Experience& Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years’ in structural steel shop fabrication
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, self-directed and capable of interacting and communicating with all levels within the organization
- Demonstrated and proven leadership skills and ability to motivate teams
- Strong problem solving/troubleshooting experience
- Excellent communication, listening and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Good leadership skills and should be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to follow deadlines and work under pressure
- High School or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to translate policies into daily routine operations
- ERP/MRP experience:
Global Shop preferred - Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test
- College Degree highly preferred
- Must have a High School Diploma, GED or at least 2 to 4 years of equivalent experience in the field and related work area
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook)
- Understanding of Lean concepts
- Oversee the entire workings throughout the production department
- Ensure the product being manufactured meets the company’s standards, policies and practices
- Confer with the Production and Plant Manager to ensure that manufacturing objectives are being met
- Supervise the work of the whole staff working within the Production department
- Weekly time management approvals and submission to management in ERP system
- Interviews department candidates
- Addresses employee relations issues, such as work complaints or other employee concerns
- Creates and administers employee written warnings and submit to management
- Assist with employee evaluations
- Create a continuous improvement environment, teamwork, and a dedication to execute the right things the first time
- Interact with employees and assist customers in response to their concerns, questions, or complaints
- Recommends new equipment, methods and facilities to Management Team
- Meets production objectives by forecasting job requirements and potential barriers
- Establishes priorities, controls process, and resolves issues to maintain efficiency
- Effectively plan the use of personnel, production machinery and other resources
- Assures compliance with corporate regulations pertaining to Human Resources and Safety
- Works to improve production processes and procedures
