Turner Industries is seeking an experienced Combo Welder to join our Capital Projects Team at P66 in Old Ocean, TX.
- No per diem, ideal for local candidate
- Must pass weld test and safety council
- Drug test and employment physical required
Job Description
Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble structural forms such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe, building and bridge parts.
Functional RequirementsSelect equipment, plan layout, assembly and welding; lay out, position, align and fit components; bolt, clamp, tack weld parts to secure in position for welding; set up equipment and weld parts; assemble parts by bolting and riveting; weld pipe such as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc. by arc, heliarc, gas, MIG, TIG processes; weld pipe, sheet metal, structural steel, brackets or other materials;
repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts; cut materials with a torch to demo existing assemblies.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in the specified skill
- Written pre‑employment qualification test
- Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Hazard Communication orientation/test
- Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
- OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87)
- Job site orientation
- Job site safety requirements such as clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard)
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace

Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures; maintaining balance on ladders and scaffolds; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects; coordinating eye, hand and finger movements to operate tools; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground, waist or overhead; carrying tools and equipment; standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
MentalInvolvement
Follow set procedures and standards; apply basic mathematical skills; plan work and select proper tools; compare and understand differences in size, shape and form of lines; picture and evaluate solid objects using standards and drawings; follow oral and written directions, plans and blueprints; read and write; recognize and report safety hazards.
Work Environment Factors- Location:
industrial construction sites, equipment yard and/or fabrication shop - Mobility barriers to access job site: ground level, obstructed pathways, low and/or high elevations, confined areas
- Climatic/environmental conditions: predominately outdoor climate; exposure to extreme hot or cold weather, humidity, rain; varying noise levels; potential exposure to chemicals
