As a leader in the industry, we are rapidly growing and looking for a Production Planner/Scheduler to join our exciting team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
Tasks and Responsibilities- Prioritize and schedule production orders
- Schedule production orders on a daily/weekly basis across all production departments
- Ensure work orders are started in a timely manner
- Work with department managers to ensure work order start times are as accurate as possible
- Correct or adjust ERP when work schedules change
- Ensure work orders are completed and closed in a timely manner prior to shipment
- Ensure issues with production orders are addressed ASAP to achieve expected production flow
- Ensure issues with employee clock in/out of work orders daily are addressed immediately
- Elevate problems or priority conflicts to Materials Manager as necessary to achieve expected production flow
- Maintain a clean, organized and professional workspace
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in production planning, including developing and managing schedules and utilizing planning software
- Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize production
- Proactive problem solving skills to identify and resolve production issues and disruptions
- Effective communication, both written and verbal, to interact with various stakeholders
- Organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with the steel industry, including materials, processes, and supply chain dynamics, preferred but not required
