GNB Global Inc. is a manufacturing and construction services company specializing in engineered fabric tensioned steel-framed buildings. As a leader in the industry, we are rapidly growing and looking for a Saw Operator to join our exciting team in a fast-paced environment in Rhome, TX.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining saw equipment to cut steel and metal components according to precise specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain band saws, circular saws, and other cutting equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine cutting requirements.
  • Measure and mark material for cutting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with job specifications.
  • Adjust saw settings, including speed and blade selection, for different types of steel and thicknesses.
  • Inspect finished cuts to ensure quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment, including blade changes and lubrication.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Keep an organized and clean workspace to promote efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of fabrication projects.
  • Move materials on forklift.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience as a saw operator in a steel fabrication environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings and measurements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers.
  • Familiarity with different steel types and their cutting requirements.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to OSHA standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification is a plus.
  • Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish.
Hazardous Work Conditions
  • Work in extremely hot or cold environments.
  • Work in extremely dusty environments.
  • Work in extremely noisy environments.
  • Work in environments with dangerous and/or objectionable fumes with exposure to fumes from:
    • Metals that include aluminum, antimony, arsenic, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, silver, tin, titanium, vanadium, zinc.
    • Gases that include argon, helium, nitrogen, carbon dioxide.
    • Welding processes that include nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, phosgene, hydrogen fluoride, carbon dioxide.
